You have to be an expert because you've been communicating for virtually months, right? Maybe, however, there is one mistake that can be avoided to communicate over the virtual channel and make it even more effective. And there are five ways to improve overall virtual performance from the mistakes you missed.
Everything new requires more effort and more conscious thinking. Virtual communication is no exception. In general, as you become more comfortable, you can reduce the amount of brain power that something needs and do more work in your subconscious. Examples are cycling, longboarding and driving a car. When this is your first learning, they need more thought. At some point they become a second property, eliminating the need to use turn signals or consciously think about entering the right lane and turning left. However, there is one thing that conscious thinking can benefit from, especially when communicating virtually. It allows you to focus on the audience without worry about memorising content.
As humans, we make mistakes in conversation, but the limitations of virtual communication exacerbate this challenge. The limitations of not being able to see non-verbal cues, lack of facial expression and the inability to properly see the surroundings of the attendees can all play a part.
